Apache Patch Disables DNT for All IE10 Users

Roy Fielding, a principal scientist at Adobe Systems who is also part of the group working on the DNT specification for the World Wide Web Consortium, wrote a patch that sets the Web server to disable DNT if the browser is Internet Explorer 10. This means regardless of user preference, Web servers with the patch applied will ignore the "Do Not Track" setting if the user is running Internet Explorer.

BOSTON (Reuters) - Apple Inc is removing old versions of Oracle Corp's Java software from Internet browsers on the computers of its customers when they install the latest update to its Mac operating system. Apple, which has previously included Java with installations of Mac OS X, announced the move on its support site. It said that customers need to obtain Java directly from Oracle if they want to access web content written the widely used programming language. Twitter Censors Users for the First Time

For the first time ever, Twitter censored a controversial account at the request of local government earlier this week. It was run by neo-Nazis. The ban, which is the first of its kind under a relatively new Twitter policy that gives the company "the ability to reactively withhold content from users in a specific country -- while keeping it available in the rest of the world." As such, the ban is only effective in Germany, however. The rest of the world is free to follow the bigots.
