As many as 3.6 million Social Security numbers and 387,999 credit and debit card numbers may have been exposed during a series of cyber-attacks against systems belonging to the South Carolina Department of Revenue, state officials disclosed on Friday. Anyone who has ever filed a South Carolina tax return since 1998 may be affected.
